The Urchin beret is found
That sneaky little urchin beret from knitty.com that I lost....I found....in the front seat of the car my daughter drives...hmmmm...I wonder how it got there? I actually had picked up the red Ull flame to make up another one but decided I wanted the same color. I am glad I waited. I have it back and I am happy.

Felting Rowan Tapestry yarn
Oh my goodness.....look out if you decide to try to felt with the Rowan Tapestry yarn.....felt it does! I loved the purse in last years Autumn rowan magazine....the one iwth the beautiful rattan handles and the funky curly ques down the length of the bag....well. You knit this piece which is around 30" long before you felt it(which I did) the directions then say to felt it in 40 degree f washer....well being the smarta... that I am I decide to felt it just like cascade220...after all it is only 50% wool the rest is soybean fiber....how fast can that felt up????WRONG.....with one washing using the temp that I use for cascade 220 I now have piece that is 12" long....a beautiful little piece mind , you but reduced to the size of a clutch....no room for long little funky danglies and curly ques. I am a little obsessed with this bag now because I want to see the look of the Tapestry felted at 40degree F...I am sure I will be filling you in....after all the scientist in me loves experiments!

Knitty's urchin beret is gone!
I am in fact very sad. About a month ago I made the Urchin Beret that is in the most recent issue of Knitty.com. I used the yarn Ull-flame by Garnstudio to make it. It is one of my all time favorite knitted pieces. It had a great fit, jaunty look, and was plain old fun to make(you all know I love short rows!). It is gone....missing....I was sure it was buried in my car somewhere because I wore it whenever I could when we had cold days. I tore my car apart this morning....it is really gone. I guess I am going to have to make a new one...maybe I will make a red one this time. Time to sign off I have to hit the beading bench to get ready for our jewelry trunk show at the store this Sunday.

"The Sweater" as modeled by Rachel

Well Rachel and I have been playing around with the new camera. We are alittle like the guys that walk around seeing pictures and then"framing them" with their fingers. We just need the little berets and the appropriate"hmmmm" noises. Rachel was a good egg and volunteered to model "The Sweater" for you to see. It was a great photo shoot because I did not reclaim my sweater until the end of the day....it felt too good for Rachel to want to take it off. The very cozy, warm and soft yarn is Cascade Magnum.

Obsession about "the sweater"
I lied; that is about "the sweater" being done. The buttons have been off and on....positioned and repositioned. The closures moved and recreated(and of course moved one more time). Maybe it is done now?
